Frequently Asked Questions Concerning Mission Trips
Do LFJI leaders get paid?
No. All Living For Jesus International leaders volunteer their time and often their resources to the ministry. We all desire to fulfill the great commission and and consider it a privilege to minister the Gospel and equip the body.
How are mission trip locations selected?
We receive multiple invitations from all over the world and currently do not have the capacity to accept every invitation. We accept invitations based on the prompting of Holy Spirit and the availability of team members. Jesus is the head of our ministry and we make every effort to honor His leading.
Are there minimum requirements to host a LFJI team?
If Holy Spirit prompts us to accept an invitation then no group is too big or small. We have slept under the stars in the bush, in peoples homes, in hotels, and everywhere in between. The main consideration is that Holy Spirit says go and we have a local partner who can translate or can secure a translator for us. Additional requirements vary by location and will be discussed with the host.
What should we expect from a LFJI ministry team?
Our teams prayerfully seek what Holy Spirit desires for us to minister to each individual group to whom we are called. This means that each session will be unique based on the leading of the Holy Spirit. However, our goal is to teach and equip the body of Christ to do the work of the ministry. We often incorporate personal testimonies which glorify God. All of our senior ministers are rooted and grounded in the Word, recognizing that the entire Bible is the basis of all ministry.
Can I be a part of a LFJI mission trip?
We encourage Christians to participate in international mission trips. LFJI accepts Christians to join us in ministry based on the leading of Holy Spirit. With rare exceptions, participants are expected to be able to pay their own way. However, once approved funds can be donated to LFJI on a participants behalf.
How does a mission trip participant get approved?
Participants are prayerfully considered and must interview personally with the leadership team. They must be born again and sense God is calling them to international ministry. Trips vary in levels of physical activity and spiritual intensity. Some trips will only be open to proven mature believers, while others may be suitable for new Christians.
How many mission trips does LFJI plan each year?
This varies from year to year based on availability of finances and Holy Spirits direction. We have done as many as 18 international trips a year with multiple teams. There have also been years where travel has been restricted (Covid) when there have been as few as 3 international trips.
How can I request to go on a mission trip?
For trips that are open to potential participants there will be a application button next to that trip on the “upcoming mission trips” web page. The trips for 2024 are currently full.
